The I-75 Commercial Vehicle Lanes project will improve mobility and safety for freight operators and passenger vehicles. The project consists of two barrierseparated commercial vehicle only lanes along I-75 from approximately the I-475/I-75 interchange near Macon to the McDonough area. The project will benefit all motorists by reducing congestion and improving safety while offering direct economic benefits to travelers in Georgia as well as freight and logistic carriers in the southeast. 5 Things You Need to Know 1. Adds new lane miles on I-75 from the Macon area to the McDonough area 2. A commercial vehicle lane provides a commercial vehicle travel-only keeping the general-purpose lanes for the typical motorist 3. Projected to reduce delay on I-75 by 40% in 2030* 4. Reduces maintenance costs on general purpose lanes 5. One of the initial 11 large-scale Major Mobility Investment Program projects to improve transportation in Georgia
