The DC Public Library has a need to modernize several facilities and to build new libraries to better serve residents. These projects will generally include the design, build, finance, and maintenance (DBFM) of a new library facility, and there could be opportunities for private activity such as residential, commercial and retail uses, the revenue of which might be used to offset availability payments made by the District for this facility. Such projects may also potentially include the bundling of several library and other District facilities.
